Elon R. Musk is a South African-born Canadian-American business magnate, inventor, investor has made what might just be the boldest move in auto manufacturing history: he’s making all of Tesla Motors patents free to use.

His rocket company SpaceX — short for Space Exploration Technologies Corp recently unveiled a spacecraft designed to fly astronauts to space station last month. SpaceX is one of several private companies vying to develop "space taxis" for NASA to replace the retired space shuttle fleet.
Last year he unveiled plans for Hyperloop high-speed train on a conceptual route that runs from the Los Angeles region to the San Francisco Bay Area, by posting a 57-page “alpha design” plan online that explained how such a train would work, in a PDF document.
Again, the drawings are completely free to use for anyone to use.
