How to take a photo while wearing a straitjacket.
Since childhood, I have been captivated by imagery, fueling my passion for portraiture—the art of capturing fleeting moments. My work tells stories through images, revealing the beauty, strength, and vitality of my subjects. Establishing an emotional connection is crucial; only then can I capture a moment that transcends time. Is it just a snapshot, or a work of art?
Born in Sweden, I grew up in Stockholm before moving to Switzerland for two decades. Later, I studied photography in New York and Paris at Studio Click’Clack, refining my craft alongside legends like Helmut Newton, François Lamy, and Paolo Roversi. Now, I divide my time between Milan, Cape Town, and Stockholm, always in pursuit of new inspirations.
For over a decade, I have documented Brooklyn Funk Essentials, capturing the band’s journey through intimate and dynamic imagery. My work spans specialized projects and photojournalism, covering industries like cycling, travel, and finance across Africa, the USA, and Asia. It has been published in travel magazines and exhibited at cultural festivals like Burning Man and AfrikaBurn.
I’ve been a finalist in prestigious competitions, including the Magnum Photography Awards and the Nikon Photo Contest. My recent exhibition was featured at Bakfickan, part of the Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum in Stockholm.
Beyond photography, I manage a project curating exhibitions at Burning Man events worldwide, engaging with artistic communities across the US, South Africa, Israel, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.
Through my work, I strive to go beyond capturing images—I aim to tell authentic stories and evoke emotion. My journey from amateur to professional remains an ongoing exploration of photography’s power to convey meaning.
