Here’s an apartment that could make moving cross-country or continent a no-packing snap, with just a few taps on your iPhone. Kasita wants to let you bring your entire micro-apartment with you.
Kasita is a 20 square meters space that has been carefully crafted down to the last cubic mm with a focus on elegance, comfort and function from the smart home technology with a washer, dryer, and full kitchen that hides a slide-out bed. Connected features built into the prefab units include privacy glass that darkens on command and smart lights and music... Kasita’s unique tile system allows for virtually infinite customization and options for the home while maintaining order and function.
Kasita, LLC. will build several units in Austin in 2016. Additional units are also planned for 10 other cities the following year. The cost to buy hasn't been revealed, but rent in Austin is expected to cost around US$600 per month.
