Mobile commerce (m-commerce) particularly on tablet devices is having an outsize impact on the e-commerce world, contributing to an increasing share of US retail e-commerce sales.

Between last year and this year alone, m-commerce sales are expected to increase 82% from $24.81 billion to $38.84 billion. By 2017, m-commerce will generated more than $108 billion in U.S. According to an eMarketer study published recently.

​E-commerce, which generated $231 billion in sales for U.S. retailers last year, is expected to increase 13% to $262 billion this year, according to forecasts technology and market research firm Forrester plans to release recently.

The Scandinavian region was the master of European m-commerce in 2012 with the highest share of the mobile channel's total e-commerce sales in the region (7.3 per cent) and the second highest growth rate from 2011 to 2012 (240 per cent). The mobile channel's share of total sales in Scandinavia is thus nearly twice as high as the European average of 3.9 per cent, as seen bellow:
