Ryanair's questionable CEO is in the travel headlines again. Michael O'Leary said his airline plans to offer flights from Europe to the United States for as little as $14. Flights from the United States to Europe will be even cheaper, he said.
But Ryanair does not operate any aircraft capable of making long-haul flights. It needs to acquire appropriate aircraft first and in what state will the potential passages arrive? Then you and I can fly true Ryanair style, paying for the "extras”: charging fees for bags, seat assignments, credit card transactions and printed boarding passes...
The company's profile is crappy, the most recent scandals are the dismissal of a pilot for whistle-blowing over safety concerns or refusing to refund a dead person's ticket because she died before the start of the 28-day refund policy. Michael O'Leary with his arrogant and bullying style, might try to divert the attention from scandals to new markets.
But if everyone really hated Ryanair, nobody would use them and they’d go bust or are we all so stingy and unethical?
