How to defied time by Richard

Hoshi Ryokan Hotel in the Awazu Onsen area of Komatsu, in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Is the oldest hotel in the world since several years ago. But is not is not the oldest business in the world but become the oldest companies in the world.

The story of the Hoshi Ryokan began in 717, when Taicho Daishi, one of the greatest Buddhism teachers in the history of Japan, climbed Mount Hakusan to perform his training exercises. One night, while he was asleep, the spirit of the mountain appeared in his sleep and spoke to him of a miraculous underground spring, located in Awazu village, 20-24 kilometers from the base of the mountain. He was instructed to travel to this wondrous place and, with the help of the villagers, unearth the hot spring that would cure the people of all their illnesses.

Rumors of the curative spring of Awazu spread all across the land and more people traveled here hoping they could be cured of their sicknesses. Taicho Daishi ordered his disciple, Garyo Hoshi, to build a spa around the magical spring that would serve the people forever.

Now, nearly 1,300 years later, the Hoshi Ryokan is run by the 46th generation of the same Hoshi family. One night at the Hoshi Ryokan around USD 350 per person including breakfast and dinner.

Underground Bicycle Parking System by Richard

Japan have a load of cars and public transport all over the place - the bicycle is still very much a common way to get around but its difficult finding a place to park ones two wheeler.

With this system nobody can steel your bike and its space saving. An additional feature especially for Sweden - is the fact that your bike is dry or without snow during wintertime.

This diagram shows how the bicycles are arranged so that its able to store 204 units.

To remedy this problem, construction company Giken have come up with a solution which stores hundreds of bicycles underground using a system called Eco Cycle - a robot system which stores bicycles underground in a 11 meter deep well.

The Cove exposes the slaughter of more than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises off the coast of Japan every year, and how their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is sold as food in Japan and other parts of Asia, often labeled as whale meat.

The film has been making waves since it premiered. Critical praise and audience awards worldwide have focused international attention on Taiji and the annual dolphin drives off the coast of Japan.
