BitTorrent will launch BitTorrent Bundles for Publishers on September 24 and let creators distribute their own content. The revolution will be distributed!
BitTorrent Inc., a San Francisco company founded by the creator of the BitTorrent file transfer protocol. The company has worked with dozens of musicians, writers and film makers over the past two years to build out the Bundles concept, most recently with artists such as Jet Life, Linkin Park and Madonna. The idea is to let content creators put up free content to encourage downloads as well as layers of additional content.
Madonna will be using BitTorrent to freely distribute a short David Klein-directed film titled "secretprojectrevolution" - which will serve as a precursor to Madonna's new online project Art for Freedom, where she asks the world to submit various multimedia pieces protesting global intolerance. The film, plus bonus content, is available to the public for free download beginning September 24 at 2pm EST.
