Burning Man 2014 by Richard

Near the end of summer every year, about 100 miles north of Reno in the Nevada desert, tens of thousands of people gather for the Burning Man festival, an oasis for the most eclectic group of people on the planet. Burning Man started with a bonfire at San Francisco’s Baker Beach in 1986. This year, the tickets to the playa was sold out in less than 45 minutes and we were at least 100'000 participant including the Burning Man staff.

The first day of Burning Man was canceled due to poor weather this year, and we all waited in line, in front of the gates for 24 hrs. Regardless, the party started there between cars and RVs!

BRC is closed until midday Tuesday due to rain and standing water. Playa is un-drivable. Law enforcement is turning cars back.

The Burning Man art and its participant pushes the limits of human creativity to test the unauthorized and permitted limits, here are some pictures from this year.

being part of a process by Richard

Burning Man is the experience of a product called 'freedom' that anyone can purchase for $380.

First let's be pragmatic:

  • Bad ideas: "That'll never work"
  • Good ideas: "That could work"
  • Great ideas: "That'll never work"

Burning Man is a great idea that works better than you could imagine. It's often described as an experiment in radical self-expression and radical self-reliance, based on the Ten Principles.

Burning Man was founded in 1986 when San Francisco artist Larry Harvey gathered a small group of people on the Summer Solstice to burn an 8-foot wooden structure of a man at Baker Beach. Today, Burning Man is celebrated on an empty lake bed in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, 120 miles north of Reno, Nevada.

In Black Rock City, all commercial activity is forbidden and is replaced by the adoption of an extensive barter economy and the practice of "gifting."

It is a party in the desert with your Sparkle Pony. That's basically it.

The Holy Grail by Richard

The Holy Grail is a sacred object figuring into literature and certain Christian traditions, most often identified with the dish, plate, or cup used by Jesus at the Last Supper and said to possess miraculous powers. Conspiracy theories abound on the nature of the grail and the final location.

It's here at Burning Man!

Yes, you read that right. This legend is based on the premise that the Burning Man is probably the single most crazy place on the planet, therefore the most safe place for the Holy Grail. FYI. It's the 5th element!

Well check out my pictures:
