Apple Campus 2 will be a 13,000 employees in one central four-storied circular building of approximately 260'000 m2. The original project was presented in 2006 by Steve Jobs himself to the Cupertino City Council.

Originally expected to break ground in 2013 and open in 2015, the project experienced delays and started in 2014, it is expected to be open in late 2016 or early 2017.

Apple Chief Steve Jobs did compare it to a space ship. Cupertino's Mayor Gilbert Wong has called it the mothership. In October 15, 2013 did the Cupertino City Council approve the Apple Campus 2.

Apple is now building its new campus in Cupertino, California with enough room for 13,000 employees and it has emerged. Planned touchdown sometime in 2016.
