Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the Moon on July 20, 1969, at 20:18 UTC. Armstrong became the first human to step onto the lunar surface six hours after landing on July 21 at 02:56:15 UTC.

On January 27, 1967 did the astronauts: Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee (left to right) prepare for what would be the first manned mission of the Apollo manned lunar landing program. Astronauts sat atop the launch pad for a pre-launch test when a fire broke out in their Apollo capsule and all three crew members were killed in the accident.
