Last Monday, the Japanese architect Shigeru Ban was named the winner of this year’s Pritzker Architecture Prize. Shigeru Ban is a most famous for his innovative work with paper, particularly recycled cardboard paper tubes used to quickly and efficiently house disaster victims.

Mr. Ban ones said “I’m not really interested in making money,” he has been helping disaster victims for years now!

Ten paper tubes support the vertical load and the eighty interior tubes bear the lateral forces. The large circle formed by the interior tubes forms a big area.
