Would you buy an iWatch? / by Richard

Several techno-sits confirm that Apple is building a watch. The New York Times, Nick Bilton reports that Apple “is experimenting with wristwatch-like devices made of curved glass,” according to anonymous sources inside the company.

That story was followed by another report from the Wall Street Journal saying it had also confirmed that Apple "is experimenting with designs for a watch-like device that would perform some functions of a smartphone."

More recently, Bruce Tognazzini — creator of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines — predicted on his blog that Apple would release an iWatch. "The iWatch", Tognazzini said, "will fill a gaping hole in the Apple ecosystem not only the activities of all the other computers and devices have we used, but a wide array of devices to come."

Today you can already buy wristbands that monitor your health and transmit results to your smartphone. In the long term portable devices is inevitable for Apple, devices diversify and the human body will be a rich playground for smartphones. We’re clearly approaching an age of wearable computing. Google’s Glass project, which embeds a connected computer in an eyeglass-like headset, could hit the market this year.

For now, it's still an early rumor what Apple may or may not have up its sleeve, but Dick Tracy had one!
